Seçil Kınay
Seçil Kınay, born in Istanbul - 1981, received her university degree from Koç University, College of Arts and Sciences, Sociology and her MA from Koç University Social Sciences Institute on Anatolian Civilizations and Cultural Heritage Management.
In her graduate thesis study, she focused on museums as places of education and designed an education program aiming at raising awareness on underwater cultural heritage especially for children aged between 10 and 12.
She worked and volunteered during her studies for several cultural institutions. Respectively; P Art Magazine, 2003-4 as an assistant editor; Gallery Artist, 2004-5; History Department of Koç University research assistant 2005-7; Bodrum Museum of Underwater Archaeology 2006-7 as a summer intern, ÇEKÜL-The Foundation for the Promotion and Protection of the Environment and Cultural Heritage in 2006 as a volunteer; Istanbul Archaeology Museums between 2006-2007 volunteer instructor.
Besides her joint exhibition experiences during her studies, she had two solo shows in 2010 and 2013. She was the head of the Koç University Alumni Association between 2011-2015.
Since 2007, she is working as the Project Manager of the Vehbi Koç Foundation. She oversees the projects from design to implementation, responsible for the development & research, planning, voluntary coordination, stakeholder management, monitoring & control, communication, evaluation and reporting processes, particularly on education and culture.
